'All Gold' Japanese Forest Grass
Hakonechloa macra 'All Gold'
One hundred percent vibrant lemon yellow foliage makes this suprisingly vigorous selection one of the brightest cultivars on the market today. In a single season plants form broad tufts of sunny, cheerful, tropical looking foliage. Terrific for brightening up the shade garden and softening the edges of stone paths and sidewalks, 'All Gold' is the perfect companion to ferns, purple leaved heucheras and Eupatorium 'Chocolate'. It is also magnificent as an accent when popping up through dark leaved forms of Ajuga, and great with green, blue, or blue/yellow leaved hostas. Although 'All Gold' is primarily a foliage plant, it also produces a nice show of whispy, chartreuse flowers during late summer and fall.
