`Green Sheen’ pachysandra is substantially different than any other selection of this popular species. In fact, at first glance, you might not recognize it as pachysandra. With smaller, extremely-shiny-dark-green leaves, the foliage of this slow rhizomatous spreader resembles patent leather. Its flowers of ivory white are short lived during spring but pleasantly fragrant. Use this unique selection on a small to large scale and lends strong contrast to about any other color or texture one might encounter.

Care

Watering:

`Green Sheen' Pachysandra requires a fair amount of supplemental watering and often requires watering on a regular basis during the growing season.

Fertilizing:

`Green Sheen' Pachysandra is a moderate feeder, benefiting from a couple of annual applications of slow release fertilizer. A spring application of a 3-1-2 ratio (such as a 15-5-10) can be applied at a rate of about 10 pounds per 1000 square feet, and during early fall, an application of a 2-1-2 ratio (such as a 10-5-10) can be applied to encourage root development and cold hardiness.

Pruning:

`Green Sheen' Pachysandra is evergreen and does not require pruning. It is normally only pruned for the purpose of keeping it within bounds.
