Sedum album ‘Coral Carpet’
Blooming Time
Exposure

Evergreen with flattened mosslike growth habit, ‘Coral Carpet’ is unique for its tiny, oval beanlike leaves which turn bright red in hot, dry, exposed locations as well as during the winter season. The effect of the leaves, especially in green roof settings, can be striking. And when topped with its prominent late spring and early summer display of white flowers, it is just that much more interesting. A great selection for rock garden, wall edgings, and green roofs, it combines nicely with many other low growing sedums.

Care
Watering:
'Coral Carpet' White Flowered Sedum is very drought tolerant and typically only needs watering during the hottest days of summer.
Fertilizing:
'Coral Carpet' White Flowered Sedum needs little fertilizer, but benefits from a single springtime or fall topdressing (about 1 inch deep) of organic compost or well rotted leaves. Alternatively, a springtime application of a slow release fertilizer with a 3-1-2 ratio (such as a 15-5-10) can be applied at a rate of about 10 pounds per 1000 square feet.
Pruning:
'Coral Carpet' White Flowered Sedum is a deciduous plant (nonevergreen) and does not require pruning. It is perfectly acceptable to allow the dropped leaves to decompose and nourish the soil.
