Super dense growing, ‘John Creech, smothers the ground with its compact habit of succulent medium green foliage. Flowering mid summer, ‘John Creech’ bears upright stems topped with clusters of pinkish-purple florets. Excellent on a small to large scale as a general cover, it looks like green carpeting and conforms to the slightest contour. It is good for erosion control on gentle slopes and is excellent tucked into cracks in retaining walls and between stepping stones.

Care

Watering:

'John Creech' Sedum is very drought tolerant and typically only needs watering during the hottest days of summer.

Fertilizing:

'John Creech' Sedum needs little fertilizer, but benefits from a single springtime or fall topdressing (about 1 inch deep) of organic compost or well rotted leaves. Alternatively, a springtime application of a slow release fertilizer with a 3-1-2 ratio (such as a 15-5-10) can be applied at a rate of about 10 pounds per 1000 square feet.

Pruning:

'John Creech' Sedum is evergreen and does not require pruning. It is normally only pruned for the purpose of keeping it within bounds.
