(Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens) Named the 2016 Perennial Plant of the Year™ by the Perennial Plant Association, ‘Honorine Jobert’ has earned its status as a carefree, disease resistant plant with multiple seasons of interest. In spring, trifoliate dark green leaves form attractive 12-inch mounds that slowly increase in size by rhizomes. Then from mid-summer to early fall, slender, wind-responsive stems bear an abundance of pure white flowers, slightly ruffled along the edges and accented with yellow stamens and light green eyes. ‘Honorine Jobert’ prefers organically rich, moist soil and benefits from wind protection.

A spring application of a 3-1-2 ratio (such as a 15-5-10) can be applied at a rate of about 10 pounds per 1000 square feet, and during early fall, an application of a 2-1-2 ratio (such as a 10-5-10) can be applied to encourage root development and cold hardiness.

'Honorine Jobert' Windflower should be pruned while dormant during late fall or winter.
