‘Immergrunchen’, in German, literally means evergreen, which given the size of the foliage and its resemblance to S. ellacombianum, is a distinct feature. ‘Immergrunchen’ is a compact, extremely coarse textured ground cover of tight habit and vibrant green foliage. Its leaves are in fact semievergreen, some of them being shed during the winter months. An early and late bloomer, ‘Immergrunchen’ bears cheerful yellow flowers during early June, rests for a couple of months, then will bloom again during September. It is great for ground covering, excellent for erosion control, and effective in combination with companions.

Care

Watering:

Evergreen Sedum is very drought tolerant and typically only needs watering during the hottest days of summer.

Fertilizing:

Evergreen Sedum needs little fertilizer, but benefits from a single springtime or fall topdressing (about 1 inch deep) of organic compost or well rotted leaves. Alternatively, a springtime application of a slow release fertilizer with a 3-1-2 ratio (such as a 15-5-10) can be applied at a rate of about 10 pounds per 1000 square feet.

Pruning:

Evergreen Sedum is evergreen and does not require pruning. It is normally only pruned for the purpose of keeping it within bounds.
