Very bright yellow is how one would describe this foliage of this lovely little Diervilla. And, it’s a clear yellow, which makes it a great pair for other plants with clear coloration- A native hybrid, Sunshine blooms early to mid-summer with yellow trumpets, and can be used to brighten shady areas and create highlights in sunny areas when paired with darker foliaged plants. NOTE: all yellow leaved Diervilla, at least to date, seem to get a little leaf scald during summer when grown in full sun. This has only been noticeable when viewed close up.

Care
Watering:
Mountaineer® Sunshine Bush Honeysuckle is moderately drought tolerant but benefits from occasional watering, to maintain soil in a moist but not wet condition, during the summer months.
Fertilizing:
Mountaineer® Sunshine Bush Honeysuckle is a moderate feeder, benefiting from a couple of annual applications of slow release fertilizer. A spring application of a 3-1-2 ratio (such as a 15-5-10) can be applied at a rate of about 10 pounds per 1000 square feet, and during early fall, an application of a 2-1-2 ratio (such as a 10-5-10) can be applied to encourage root development and cold hardiness.
Pruning:
Mountaineer® Sunshine Bush Honeysuckle sets its flower buds in summer, and any pruning should be conducted in April, immediately after winter.
