Delosperma Fire Spinner™
Blooming Time
Exposure

The flowers of Fire Spinner® are so fanciful they look like they could have been taken right out of someone’s imaginings; masses of tricolored magenta, orange, and yellow nearly obscure the foliage in spring and bloom sporadically throughout early summer. The glistening, green-apple colored foliage spreads to form a low-growing mat which remains effective through winter. Use this unique bloomer in any full-sun area of the landscape that is missing a conversation piece. Best uses are between stepping stones, in a mixed container, along pathways, or as a small scale ground cover.

Care
Watering:
Fire Spinner™ Hardy Ice Plant is very drought tolerant and typically only needs watering during the hottest days of summer.
Fertilizing:
Fire Spinner™ Hardy Ice Plant is a moderate feeder, benefiting from a couple of annual applications of slow release fertilizer. A spring application of a 3-1-2 ratio (such as a 15-5-10) can be applied at a rate of about 10 pounds per 1000 square feet, and during early fall, an application of a 2-1-2 ratio (such as a 10-5-10) can be applied to encourage root development and cold hardiness.
Pruning:
Fire Spinner™ Hardy Ice Plant is evergreen and does not require pruning. It is normally only pruned for the purpose of keeping it within bounds.
