Delosperma Lavender Ice
Blooming Time
Exposure

(Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens) Lavender Ice is a fantastic ground covering perennial that produces dense mats of succulent green foliage. For several weeks during summer, its foliage is practically obscured with 2-inch wide, glistening iridescent lavender flowers, accented with dark lavender eyes. During the cooler months the foliage takes on a purplish hue, adding colorful interest to the winter landscape. Lavender Ice withstands drought, is tolerant of a wide-array of soils, and is worthy of planting enmasse for a great presentation of color.

Watering:
Lavender Ice™ Hardy Ice Plant is very drought tolerant and typically only needs watering during the hottest days of summer.
Fertilizing:
Lavender Ice™ Hardy Ice Plant is a moderate feeder, benefiting from a couple of annual applications of slow release fertilizer. A spring application of a 3-1-2 ratio (such as a 15-5-10) can be applied at a rate of about 10 pounds per 1000 square feet, and during early fall, an application of a 2-1-2 ratio (such as a 10-5-10) can be applied to encourage root development and cold hardiness.
Pruning:
Lavender Ice™ Hardy Ice Plant is evergreen and does not require pruning. It is normally only pruned for the purpose of keeping it within bounds.
