(Image courtesy of Creek Hill Nursery) Compact and busy, ‘Siesta’ has a sturdy non-flopping habit with excellent mildew resistance. Late summer buds are adorably spherical, resembling tiny tennis balls before opening up into disc-shaped daisies. These brightly colored flowers have overlapping petals that are true-red in color, with ruffled edges and burnt-burgundy centers. ‘Siesta’ is an excellent season extender, providing fresh fall color to the perennial border as well as containers.
