Exposure

(Image Courtesy of Walters Gardens) `Ascot Rainbow’ is clothed in sage-green, creamy-yellow margined, fine textured foliage that is wine-red at the tip of the stems. Arranged densely upon thin, purple-rose colored stems, the foliage is accented, during springtime, with sprays of chartreuse petaled, dark crimson-centered flowers. Overall `Ascot Rainbow’ is a kaleidoscope of color. It is a neat and tidy plant with compact habit like a miniature shrub (reminiscent of daphne) and it requires little maintenance. It is also quite drought tolerant and excellent in rock gardens or in more traditional garden settings.
