`Pink Frost’ is a compact yet vigorous selection, forming tidy mounds adorned with a high count of deep burgundy buds that first appear in winter. A heavy bloomer in late winter and early spring, the buds of `Pink Frost’ open to reveal outward facing flowers in shades of dusky rose streaked with white. These flowers darken with age, eventually turning a deep burgundy. The evergreen foliage of `Pink Frost; remains interesting long after its flowers have faded; leaves are veined in red and overlaid with a silvery sheen. A nice choice for the woodland border or other shady setting.

Care

Watering:

Gold Collection® `Pink Frost' Lenten Rose is very drought tolerant and typically only needs watering during the hottest days of summer.

Fertilizing:

Gold Collection® `Pink Frost' Lenten Rose is a moderate feeder, benefiting from a couple of annual applications of slow release fertilizer. A spring application of a 3-1-2 ratio (such as a 15-5-10) can be applied at a rate of about 10 pounds per 1000 square feet, and during early fall, an application of a 2-1-2 ratio (such as a 10-5-10) can be applied to encourage root development and cold hardiness.

Pruning:

Gold Collection® `Pink Frost' Lenten Rose is evergreen and does not require pruning. It is normally only pruned for the purpose of keeping it within bounds.
