Photo courtesy of Ball Horticulture. Delightfully compact and super-florific, `SuperBlue’s fine-leaved, grey-green, aromatic foliage is the perfect foil to the numerous, tightly arranged, bright lavender flowers that bloom consistently from late spring until early fall. With excellent winter hardiness and superb drought tolerance, `SuperBlue’ works well in xeriscapes and rock gardens, but is perfectly happy in normal garden settings provided good drainage. With its tidy habit, it makes for a nice dwarf hedging or edging and fits right in with the cottage and English style gardens or cut flower gardens.

Care
Watering:
`SuperBlue' Lavender is very drought tolerant and typically only needs watering during the hottest days of summer.
Fertilizing:
`SuperBlue' Lavender is a moderate feeder, benefiting from a couple of annual applications of slow release fertilizer. A spring application of a 3-1-2 ratio (such as a 15-5-10) can be applied at a rate of about 10 pounds per 1000 square feet, and during early fall, an application of a 2-1-2 ratio (such as a 10-5-10) can be applied to encourage root development and cold hardiness.
Pruning:
`SuperBlue' Lavender sets its flower buds in summer, and any pruning should be conducted in April, immediately after winter.
