Popular since its introduction in 1968, `Raspberry Sundae’ is prized for 10 inch wide, fully double, soft pastel pink, darker pink, and bright raspberry-red flowers. In time the flower petals transition to pinkish white with soft golden edges. And they’re fragrant, and they’re wonderful as cut flowers! ‘Raspberry Sundae’ is a real must-have for the mixed border or cutting flower garden and combines nicely with many companions.

Care

Watering:

'Raspberry Sundae' Garden Peony is moderately drought tolerant but benefits from occasional watering, to maintain soil in a moist but not wet condition, during the summer months.

Fertilizing:

'Raspberry Sundae' Garden Peony needs little fertilizer, but benefits from a single springtime or fall topdressing (about 1 inch deep) of organic compost or well rotted leaves. Alternatively, a springtime application of a slow release fertilizer with a 3-1-2 ratio (such as a 15-5-10) can be applied at a rate of about 10 pounds per 1000 square feet.

Pruning:

'Raspberry Sundae' Garden Peony should be pruned while dormant during late fall or winter.
